I Know you want it. How about you buy it?

The Curse Of Exploration: The White Desert

Bed For The Night

Lemme start by confessing. We did not shower for two days. Look at you judging me? What’s the longest you’ve ever gone without showering? Pooping in the desert? See, such are the joys of going for camping. It’s you and nature. Growing up I used to envy Bear Grylls, well I still do. I’d probably sell a kidney (not mine) to join his adventures.

Now let me tell you about The White Desert. Know that feeling when you know there is something in you that needs to be revived? Going through moments where a spark triggers your drive, thirst, making you fall in love with a never ending search. Seeing a place for the first time it instantly left breathlessly in awe? Well this was me the entire stay here. It was a bitter sweet moment that 90% of the time I forgot to take pictures. Very rare I must say.  Seeing the white limestone rock formations was something else.  The quantity of unearthly and beautiful wind-carved rock formations shaped in the form of giant mushrooms or pebbles just leaves you asking how.

Seems like another planet right? You’ll be surprised on what the world has to offer when you break the routine to do something different. Nature has it’s way of  giving us the gift of unlimited ability. The constant guarantee of not knowing how things will turn out leaving you to trust on chance and explore a foreign alien like landscape.

Left For Dead

What if we lived as traveled? Wake up one day and want to go on a journey.  Run wild. Go to a place for the first time and experience every moment like a baby hearing her mother for the first time. But is this what I really want? What do I want? The answer is I really don’t know what I want. For me that is desire. See, being behind the camera is a blessing with a curse. Getting trigger happy wanting to shoot, forgetting to live the moment. Wasted energy. One of the best things was when I figured to let go, living each moment as it was. Learning not to try to take control of every moment. No one tells your hair how to grow, when your heart should beat. Similar to travel, we’re always swamped with a “To-Do-List”, I must go to a certain place, I must catch the sunset. All this trying to do all that can happen if we don’t try. Let go and be free.

    • Glad you enjoyed. Haha Trust you me it was not by choice. Camping in the desert with no access to water.

  1. In class 5 I camped at Malindi for a week. Boss, I did not shower. Yes. For that entire week. The instant sight of those so-called bathrooms, ah ah. No. I Kent. Came back home to embrace my formerly white face towel, as brown, the colour of earth.😂

  2. What’s up to all, the contents existing at this web site are in fact amazing for
people knowledge, well, keep up the nice work fellows.
