With Tales of tourists killed in The Famous deserts, you’d wipe it off your bucket list right? Guess again. I mean who knows when I’ll be back? Plus Mahmoud our guide, mentioned that he knows the desert like the palms of his hand. “C’mon it’s totally safe. Look at the bright side, if you died, at least we die together.” He bursts out in laughter. “Just kidding. Think about it. If you do not want to go it’s okay.”
10 p.m here we are thinking to go or not to go. Hahaha why am I lying. Thy mind was already made up ages ago. Not going was not an option. I mean you when will I see black volcanic hills that ages ago erupted a dark volcanic material, camping under a skies full of stars, Plus the landscape? Uuuumm Nope. Just No. Everything is planned out. Wake up at 6 AM and hit the road meet up with the Bedouin Locals who would be our guides for the two nights.
*Commercial break* Apart from being scared about being killed in the desert, it gets better. Well not really. our guides, The Bedouins are some badass people and the minute you mention camping in the black and white desert, it comes with a ,”Whatever you do Keep away from the Bedouins. Don’t joke with them or try to friend them.” Bruuuuh
Where were we? Yes, first stop at the bedouins home for lunch and pack up and we are off. Next stop is some salt lake.
Why did I call shotgun? Ever wished a car came with 3 seatbelts? Wait till you get a crazy driver then you’ll know why. Oooh don’t mind me I loved every bit of it. I forgot how fast we were going thanks to the amazing landscape. 10 min into the journey, half of my body was out of the car, tongue out enjoying the cruise.
Tango we have touch down. We made it alive. I must say I was a bit tensed. At some point, I flipped the tables and said whatever happens happens. I will enjoy every minute to the last bullet shell in my body. With such beauty right in front of you, you wouldn’t want any distraction right? To me, the idea of adventure meant drowning my worries. I mean adventure is not knowing how things will turn out. The unknown makes every minute count, the only certain thing with you is leaving everything to chance and exploration.
There is so much of the world to explore. We dissolve in nature without knowing it.Beautiful alien like landscape that gives you the feeling of looking into the barrel of a gun. Who’d have though such a place exists? Being in the mercies of nature, seeing a place for the first time and having nothing to say but to stare. Back to earth. Yes this was our campsite. If you’re expecting tents, joke on you.
This is not the end of it. Stick around for adventures in the white desert. Till next time, adios.
Stay winning brother!!
I sure will keep trying. Thank you Brian.
